Purpose
The project scope statement further defines and refines the scope that was outlined in the project charter. It identifies both the project and product deliverables in detail. The scope statement provides a common understanding of project scope for all stakeholders and should be used as a benchmark for future project decisions. Requirements should be gathered and documented before this template is filled in. The scope statement is considered a living document and updated should be managed through a defined change management process.
